Amebiasis refers to infection caused by the amoeba Entamoeba histolytica.
The condition is most commonly transmitted when a person starts eating food or drinking water which contains the microorganisms. It is a complicated infection to treat with allopathic drugs, and repeated courses of specific medication are needed. One of the most common cause is its spread form infected person to other by stools or faces in this way it is comes in transferred condition. It is also occur due to crowded living condition. It is internally occur when blood spread through liver, brain or vital internal organs.
Symptoms of Asthma
The most common symptoms of amoebiasis include abdominal pain, diarrhoea, dysentery, etc. Stool can have blood or mucus. The abdominal pain can accompany severe fever. Amoebiasis symptoms can take a few days to a few weeks to develop and manifest after infection. The amoeba can move into the blood stream and move to other parts of the body, especially the liver. There are also asymptomatic infections, in which the amoeba stays in the intestine for a long time, feeding on bacteria and food particles before damaging the intestinal wall.
Causes of Amoebiasis
Causes of amoebiasis can include taking of contaminated water or food. The vegetables and fruits harvested from contaminated soil can also lead to serious infection. The amoeba forms a cyst around its body as a protection. This cyst is released to the soil through faeces. If the cysts reach the intestine through water or food, it can cause this condition.
Treatments for Amoebiasis
Preventive measures include good sanitation, drinking clean water and taking care of clean food. Water filtration can prevent most instances of infection. Take special care to ensure the safety of the vegetables and fruits you eat. There aren't any vaccines available as of now. Treatment for amoebiasis may require specific procedures to address intestinal or extra-intestinal infection. Anti-amoebic drugs (amoebicides) are used. There are different treatments to suppress and eliminate amoeba. Intra cellular or tissue amoebicides destroy amoeba, which has intruded into cell or tissue systems. Luminal amoebicides destroy amoeba found in the intestine.
